My military father was issued a pair when we were stationed outside of Fairbanks, AK. This was over 40 years ago, and I am still wearing a pair that my mother had at that time. My father saw me wearing them during our recent nasty winter here in MT, and was lamenting giving his to my brother. I ordered him and my husband each a pair. I can tell you from experience (a long one), that as long as you do not get them soaking wet, your feet will never get cold in these. They are, and will remain, a part of the survival bag that I keep in my vehicle during the winter. Highly recommend they become a part of anyone's winter gear.
