Complete with rope shoulder strap, compartment for extra map & pencils, and one compartment with clear plastic window so you can read your map without removing it from the case. Also has protective flap that folds down and snaps, complete with leather trim. Map case measures approx. 10" wide x 9" tall. Used condition with vintage look.
Most of these were made 1930-50's. They are made from heavy-duty canvas and all that I have received are waxed. You can reheat and/or re-apply wax to give them a more.consistent appearance. You can print out a map on 9x11 paper and fold the margins to fit it in.
The case itself is fine, but the seller neglected to mention the awful stench, and that the case was absolutely riddled with mildew. Otherwise, it was physically intact. I will attempt to refund, but it is my hope that this is an exception, and I am not discouraged from buying from this website in the future.
It's a bit smaller that expected but still nice. I can print out a zoomed in google earth view of my camping areas (landmarks, roads, structures, waterways) an keep them in the case. Should have bought 2.
